The Defence Synthetic Environment Platform (DSEP) programme is made up of four distinct areas; Service Integrator, Applications/use cases, Tooling/coding and the platform itself.

The platform environment Is a multi-agent programmable modelling and simulation development environment for building explicit agent-based simulations.

Defence requires a scalable, agile platform to provide and exploit trusted and authoritative modelling & simulation data, government furnished assets, models, services and applications to produce pertinent synthetic environments for various use cases.

The use of synthetic environments will reduce time taken to evaluate courses of action across a range of defence interests.  This will seek to deliver to the UK Strategic Command and Defence Digital an evergreen synthetic environment platform as a key pillar of the Defence Digital Backbone.
