Briefing with CEO of the National Care Forum

On 16th June techUK welcome Vic Rayner, CEO of the National Care Forum, to a briefing with members.

NCF is the membership organisation for not-for-profit organisations in the care and support sector. NCF members collectively deliver more than £2.4 billion of social care support to over 277,200 people in 7600 care and support settings. They employ more than 124,700 colleagues and 16,100 volunteers.

Among other priorities, the NCF works to advance the digital transformation of social care. During the briefing, Vic touched on:

  • Some of the ongoing projects among the National Care Forum’s members
  • The Better Security, Better Care programme
  • Digital leadership programmes developed with Skills for Care
  • Demographic changes and how tech can help tackle the current vacancies across both health and social care

Digital Innovation in the Life Sciences Industry

techUK has launched a Life Sciences workstream, bringing together members actively working in drug discovery, digital therapeutics, data and AI, or those interested in moving into this space. As the Life Sciences sector looks to introduce digital health technologies into its portfolio, techUK are shaping the conversation.

Interoperability Working Group

The Interoperability Working Group will work towards achieving the vision set out in NHS England’s 2022 draft standards and interoperability strategy. The group will aim to encourage the adoption of open standards and fluidity of data whilst recognising the commercial needs of members. It will also focus on demonstrating the value of interoperability to NHS senior management and improving the abilities of SMEs to implement interoperability standards.
