Call for Contributions: Shaping the Future of Digital Twins in the UK

We are collecting Digital Twin Case Studies.

The UK stands at a critical crossroads in the evolution of Digital Twins—a technology set to redefine industries, infrastructure, and society as we move towards 2030 and beyond.

techUK is developing a Green Paper on Digital Twins, in partnership with Fujitsu, WHP Telecoms, and University of Salford, which sets out a vision for the UK to lead the global Digital Twin revolution.

We are opening an opportunity for members to provide case studies for the green paper or for our website.

Why Get Involved?

Digital Twins—real time virtual representations of physical and non physical assets—will be at the heart of Industry 5.0, AI, Multiverse, Web 4.0, and Quantum Computing. The UK must take decisive action to establish itself as a global leader in Digital Twin adoption, regulation, and governance.

By contributing, you will:

  • Highlight industry challenges and opportunities to unlock economic and social benefits.
  • Ensure the UK retains its position as an innovator in AI-driven, federated, and connected Digital Twins.
  • Influence business models and investment strategies for the short and long term beyond 2050.

  • Economic & Business Models for 2030–2050: What commercial opportunities exist, and how can the UK position itself competitively?
  • Integrated Technologies & AI: How can Digital Twins integrate with AI, IoT, and the Metaverse for maximum benefit?
  • Skills, Employment & Digital Twin Readiness: What workforce skills and training are needed to support a national Digital Twin infrastructure?
  • National Digital Twin Network & Data Sovereignty: How should Digital Twin data be governed and commercialised while ensuring a fair value exchange?
  • Digital Twin Use Cases & Real-World Applications: Share insights on successful deployments in healthcare, defence, infrastructure, manufacturing, transport, and more.
