The report will propose recommendations for the government, regulators, and Ofcom aimed at fostering economic and social development in the UK. It will also outline the national capabilities and challenges in providing connectivity for all.

The report will include the following sections:

  • Recommendations for Government
  • Opportunities from TN-NTN Convergence (including direct-to-handset, 5G/6G, and NB-IoT)
  • Potential UK Capabilities (addressing LEO capabilities, Open RAN, and industry collaboration)
  • Industry Case Studies (covering emergency services, energy and Net Zero, and automated vehicles)
  • Implementation Challenges (including spectrum management, investment, and space sustainability)

How to contribute

Stakeholders can contribute by:

  1. sharing recommendations - these are specific actions you would like to see UK Government take to advance the UK's launching network convergence.

In addition, techUK members can contribute by submitting case studies.

Member case studies should illustrate how your company is harnessing network convergence to transform sectors, such as emergency services, transportation, healthcare, and energy/utilities. They should be limited to no more than 1 submission per member, with individual case studies totalling no longer than 400 words each. Please include your company logo and author headshot.
