Event Round-Up: Navigating Policing and Fire Tech Procurement: Market Insight Briefing

Monday 8 July, we were delighted to gain exclusive insight into the IT procurement landscape for the police and fire markets, as we were joined by Lorna Ingwell, Research Manager at Tussell, who provided an excellent briefing using Tussell’s data source.

In her presentation of data insights, Lorna revealed the variation of procurement profiles between buyers, and how suppliers can best manage their relationships with them within the ‘new normal’ market that has increased its spending significantly since the pandemic.

Key points of advice included:

  • The value of collaboration – it was suggested that SMEs and larger companies partner up and learn from each other, particularly in terms of what kind of service can be delivered.

  • If a supplier can offer an additional service alongside the offered product, they will appear more attractive in the market.

  • In person attendance for events, such as those offered by techUK, is encouraged to form better relationships with buyers. This can be amplified by having a greater awareness of contract renewal dates.
