Event roundup: Climate Change Agreement (CCA) Briefing for Data Center Members on DESNZ's Performance Account Template (PAT) and Savings Assessment Template (SAT)
SLR Consulting provided an overview of climate change agreements (CCAs), highlighting the performance account templates (PAT) and the savings assessment tools (SAT) as critical components for target period 6 reporting and the new CCA scheme. In particular, the PAT is a compulsory requirement for target period 6 reporting, while the SAT is essential for setting targets for the new CCA scheme.
The briefing included the timelines and deadlines for submitting the information to ensure compliance. Please see the recording for a detailed description of both PATs and SATs as well as the information requested. It is worth noting that DESNZ requires a 70% return from each CCA sector.

In the session, we also covered some of the concerns related to confidentiality due to the level of information requested as part of the SATs. In particular, while DESNZ has provided some braod assurances that individual company data would not be released into the public domain, SLT consulting noted the potential for Freedom of Information requests, which could lead to data being accessed by external parties.
To ensure DESNZ takes these concerns seriously and ensures that appropriate measures are in place to protect sensitive information, techUK asked for members' take on making the case for the sector now being designated as "Critical National Infrastructure" (CNI) and the need for DESNZ to recognise the need for more robust assurances.
