Frontline Digitisation Supplier Engagement Forum – 3.0
Anna Hawksley, Assistant Director of Programmes, spoke to NHSX’s ambitions to concentrate on the levelling-up agenda by providing funding to organisations to help them reach a core level of digitisation, providing practical support as well as looking at the commercial aspect to ensure an enduring and vibrant marketplace.
The EPR usability survey focussed on improving products already in place and received over 6000 responses. We heard from Chris Clune from KLAS, a provider of insights on information technology and services, who took as through an overview of the Arch Collaborative.
Chris outlined the series of questions asked about EPRs, and the hierarchy in which these questions should be viewed. The question of whether an EPR system allows clinicians to deliver patient-centred care was key, but issues such as whether it is always available when you need it, whether it was fast enough, easy to learn, provides integration, must all come first.
Chris’ key takeaway for our members was that EPR suppliers are almost always blamed for issues and advised that the way to solve this was to ask how you can partner to help solve the issues that affect perception of your EPR. Chris also highlighted that 75% of comments focussed on external integration – outlining that interoperability is an issue across the globe and forms the next frontier for EPR systems.
