GCHQ appoints Anne Keast-Butler to be first female director
Anne Keast-Butler, who is currently serving as deputy director at MI5, will take up the post running the UK's intelligence service next month.
Anne will suceed Sir Jeremy Fleming who announced in January he would be stepping down after six years. Ms Keast-Butler had previously worked for GCHQ has the Head of Counterterrorism and Serious Organised Crime.
On top of this, Anne has had a 30-year career in the national security field, and spent part of the last decade working in Whitehall where she helped to launch the national cyber security programme.
