NATO’s 2024 DIANA Innovation Challenges Announced
The call for submissions covers a range of duel-use technologies, across the cross-cutting themes of Space, Resilience, and Sustainability.
The key focus areas are:
- Energy and Power including energy storage, smart grid technologies, nuclear micro-reactors, cyber-physical security, data analytics and AI, and systems engineering
- Data and Information Security including data production, utilisation, direction and protection multi-domain environments, data assurance, and biometrics
- Sensing and Surveillance solutions that enable forecasting, indications and warning as well as situation awareness and post-action assessment such as drones, augmented reality and next-generation wireless technology
- Human Health and Performance improving the understanding of physical and psychological wellbeing including wearable tech, AI and autony enabled technologies, and CBRN detection and defence
- Critical Infrastructure and Logistics technologies to secure global supply chains including IoT technology, component integration, advanced decentralised data-driven logistics, autonomy, underwater cable protection, and data analysis and interpretation.
The deadline for submitting proposals in 1200UTC, Friday 9 August 2024. The competition is open to all companies (meeting the basic eligibility criteria) but best suited to start-ups and SMEs with limited experience in defence.
