NHS England to develop Health and Justice Electronic Patient Record System

NHS England have published a Prior Information Notice outlining a new market engagement opportunity.

Health and Justice Electronic Patient Record System.

The stated aims for the procurement are for an electronic healthcare record system which: 

  • Provides equitable access to comprehensive health records, whilst having seamless interoperability with broader primary care electronic systems and other existing technologies within these settings. 

  • Is safe and able to manage health records that enable timely access to medical interventions, preventative care, and holistic wellness for every individual within the justice system.  

  • Additionally, over the lifetime of the contract the supplier will be able to provide insight into future developments that will improve the system functionality, accessibility to data, reduce data entry errors; and 

  • Provides data analysis tools for commissioners to access and improve care to patients.  

A market engagement event for suppliers is “anticipated to take place” on Monday 16 September 2024 in Leeds.  

Suppliers are invited to register their interest via this link before a deadline of Friday 6th September 2024 at 12:00 midday.

Robert has a degree in Politics and International Relations (MA Hons) from the University of Aberdeen, with a particular focus on strategic studies and energy security. Outside of work he enjoys activities such as running, rugby, boxing and cooking!

Viola Pastorino is a policy, governance, and strategic communication specialist.

She joined techUK as the Junior Programme Manager in the Health and Care Team in April 2024. 

She has obtained a Bachelor of Sciences in Governance, Economics, and Development from Leiden University, and a Master's programme in Strategic Communications at King's College London.  Her academic background, leading up to a dissertation on AI policy influence and hands-on campaign development, is complemented by practical experience in international PR and grassroots project management.

She is skilled in qualitative and quantitative analysis and comfortable communicating findings to varying stakeholders. Above all, she is deeply passionate about the intersection of technology and government, especially how technology and global discourse shape one another, the processes that lead to belief polarisation and radicalisation of communities, and crafting strategic narratives that steer public discourse.

Outside of work she loves reading, live music light operation, and diving.

Georgie joined techUK as the Justice and Emergency Services (JES) Programme Manager in March 2020, then becoming Head of Programme in January 2022.

Georgie leads techUK's engagement and activity across our blue light and criminal justice services, engaging with industry and stakeholders to unlock innovation, problem solve, future gaze and highlight the vital role technology plays in the delivery of critical public safety and justice services. The JES programme represents suppliers by creating a voice for those who are selling or looking to break into and navigate the blue light and criminal justice markets.

Prior to joining techUK, Georgie spent 4 and a half years managing a Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) in Westminster. She worked closely with the Metropolitan Police and London borough councils to prevent and reduce the impact of crime on the business community. Her work ranged from the impact of low-level street crime and anti-social behaviour on the borough, to critical incidents and violent crime.
