Nominations Open: techUK’s National Security Committee 2025 – 2027

techUK members can now nominate themselves for a position on the National Security Committee (NSC) for the 2025-2027 tenure.

Please ensure you read all of the below information and the techUK National Security Committee Terms of Reference before submitting a nomination in order to fully understand expectations and responsibilities as well as the nomination process.

About techUK’s National Security Committee

The NSC is an elected group of 20 companies in techUK’s membership who work together to oversee the strategic leadership and direction of the National Security programme.

techUK’s National Security programme provides a forum for national security stakeholders to lead debate on new and emerging technologies which present opportunities to strengthen the UK’s national security but also expose vulnerabilities which threaten it. The National Security programme assess the capability of these technologies against various challenges facing the national security community in the UK, developing thought leadership on key issues.

The NSC exists to drive and govern the work of the techUK National Security programme. The Committee will focus on addressing the strategic-level security concerns that impact the UK’s technology sector whilst also providing a forum for the Government’s (HMG) national security community to engage with technology suppliers on policy and industry engagement opportunities. The NSC will be techUK’s authoritative voice on national security issues and will lead in highlighting the opportunities for the technology industry to offer solutions to them.

There are 20 spaces on the NSC, with one Chair position and one Vice Chair position available for nomination. You may nominate yourself for a Chair position or Vice Chair. If no Vice Chair has been nominated, the runner-up of the Chair vote counts will automatically be made Vice Chair. All Committee members will hold their positions for a two year tenure [February 2025 – February 2027] – details on exclusions for vacating your current position or organisation are included in the Terms of Reference. All elected Committee members are required to comply with techUK’s Code of Practice, techUK Values and the Terms of Reference.
