Recap | Tech for good: How can technology be used to protect nature?
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Isobel Ashbey, Senior Consultant at Cambridge Consultants, and Joe Griffin, Senior Manager of Sustainability Strategy at Vodafone. Our speakers provided valuable insights into the biodiversity crisis, highlighting its broader context, the role of various industry sectors, and the diverse technologies available to address this critical issue, including their scalability. They also shared details of Vodafone's activity in this space, particularly focusing on M-Twiga, a project powered by IoT and AI which serves as both an alert and deterrent mechanism, effectively preventing elephants from raiding crops and protecting livestock from predators in rural parts of Africa.
