SME members invited to share their sustainability stories
SMEs are invited to share their sustainability stories with techUK in our new video series 'SME Sustainability Snapshots'.
As techUK is committed to demonstrating innovations in our SME community, we want to hear from members who are active in sustainability or have a great solution to the myriad of environmental challenges we face.
Our new 'SME Sustainability Snapshots' are two-minute pieces to camera where SMEs can talk about what they are doing on sustainability. This can be to discuss a new product or service, give their take on a new policy or regulation, or present a case study on how customers or partners used their technology to become more sustainable. To maintain consistency and enhance viewer understanding, we encourage selecting a specific topic or aim rather than attempting to cover too much in this short content piece.
These series will predominantly function as social media initiatives, subsequently residing on our dedicated Climate Hub page. We seek newly created content, whether or not it has undergone the editing process, meaning you can submit various unedited videos for us to finalise. The preferred format for these videos is a conversational style with individuals speaking directly to the camera, potentially incorporating supplementary footage (b-roll) and demos.
In terms of structure, we aim for the final edited videos to:
Introduction: "Hi! My name is ... and I work as ... at... " and briefly explain what the company does.
Connect to your topic of choice and proceed to explain that in more detail while consistently tying back to innovative technology.
The selected topic should serve as a focal point for your video content, allowing for a comprehensive exploration that seamlessly intertwines with cutting-edge technology. For instance, if showcasing a new sustainable product, emphasise how advanced technology contributes to its development, production processes, and overall eco-friendliness.
By consistently linking your chosen topic to innovative technology, you not only showcase your commitment to sustainability but also highlight the crucial role that advancements in technology play in shaping a more environmentally conscious and efficient future.
Topics can range from helping deliver energy efficiency or carbon accounting, through to biodiversity, embedding circular economy business models, and improving human rights.
Technical guidance:
All videos should be recorded in landscape format and in an MP4 file;
Make sure to capture the video facing a light source, not against it;
Provide us with a headshot, logo, and any further information about the company, technology, or topic you mention in the video.
If you're interested in being part of this series, please get in touch with Craig, Ed, Tania, or Lucas.
There is no deadline, as we'll be publishing these throughout the year.
