Social Care Innovation Hub now live
For the first time, techUK possesses a central Hub dedicated to innovative practices and technologies across social care.
This is aligned with our mission to bring together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes of what digital technology can achieve and is evidence of the significant importance placed on social care by our Health & Social Care Council.
The Hub includes:
- Guest blogs from members and stakeholders across the sector
- Video recordings of member ‘show & tell’ pitches to techUK’s Social Care Working Group
- An ‘innovation in place-based care’ podcast released during our recent Digital Place Week 2022
- Our highly-anticipated ICS report, titled ‘Right from the Start: What should Integrated Care Systems prioritise to make digital, data and technology work for them and their populations?’
- A repository of relevant government strategies and legislation covering the NHS, DHSC, and UK Parliament
You can visit the Hub here.
How to contribute
The opportunity to contribute to the Hub is ongoing and open to all stakeholders, who are invited to submit a blog of 400-600 words on social care innovation. This must follow techUK’s contributor guidelines and be sent to [email protected].
Whilst there is no submission deadline, blogs will be posted in the order in which they are received, and so contributors are encouraged to submit content as early as possible.
Since launch, high levels of engagement have already been registered and so featuring on the Hub is a great opportunity to promote your work and participate in sector-wide thought-leadership.

The techUK podcast: Innovation in place-based care
In this episode we explore the concept of ‘place’ in care, the principles behind it, the impact of Covid-19 on care delivery, prospects for innovation following the introduction of Integrated Care Systems, examples of industry best practice, and where listeners can go to learn more about ‘place’ and innovation in care.
We were joined by Helena Zaum (Social Care Lead at Microsoft and Chair of techUK’s Social Care Working Group), Scott Cain (Associate at the Connected Places Catapult) and Hannah Groombridge (Healthcare Engagement Manager at Person Centred Software).
This discussion forms part of techUK’s Digital Place Week 2022 activity and features on our recently-launched Social Care Innovation Hub.
