Tech Deep Dives with Jacqueline de Rojas CBE and George Williamson (CEO at HMGCC)

Earlier this month, techUK’s National Security programme welcomed George Williamson, Chief Executive Officer at His Majesty’s Government Communications Centre (HMGCC) for a Fireside Chat hosted by Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, techUK Board Member, President Emeritus & Chair Bletchley Park.

HMGCC work with the national security community, UK government, academia, private sector partners and international allies to bring engineering ingenuity to the national security mission, creating tools and technologies that drive us ahead and help to protect the nation.

techUK continues to work closely with HMGCC Co-Creation – a partnership with Dstl, created to deliver a new, bold and innovative way of working with the wider UK science and technology community. Through the publication of national security engineering challenges, techUK has shared many opportunities for its members to get involved with the work that HMGCC Co-Creation delivers – with the core aim being to accelerate innovation within national security.

During this event, George and Jacqueline delved into the history of HMGCC, becoming a public-facing organisation, how new and emerging technologies can help solve some of the UK’s largest national security missions, the importance of varied skills and diversity in national security missions and how techUK members can get involved in Co-Creation.
