Tech for Good in Policing and Justice

How can we tackle digital exclusion, levelling up, and the environment? Hosted by Virgin Media O2 Business’s Justice and Policing Lead and techUK JESMC member, Charlotte Hails.

More than 90% of reported crimes now have a digital element, making digital inclusion a critical concern. Digital illiteracy makes people more vulnerable to online crime and increases the risk of certain types of offending and re-offending.

What is currently on offer to help improve digital skills? And how can we work together to create an inclusive and connected future that helps hit policing and justice sustainability targets too?

How can we tackle digital exclusion, levelling up, and the environment? Hosted by Virgin Media O2 Business’s Justice and Policing Lead and techUK JESMC member, Charlotte Hails.

Our recent roundtable discussion explored how we might address these important subjects, which Charlotte believes should be an area of focus for the next JESMC.

The panel, which included Virgin Media O2 Business’s Digital Inclusion Programme Manager Raphaella (Raffy) Gordon-Saker, Social Value Lead Evie Metcalfe and Environment Manager Nikhinder (Niki) Rai, discussed:

· The importance of addressing digital exclusion in communities and initiatives to combat it

· How we can make communities safer and the role of different organisations in achieving this

· Why sustainability should be an essential consideration for everyone

· How we can consider, track and reduce the environmental impact of policing and justice organisations to help get to net zero targets faster
