techUK Local Government Procurement Survey

If you work in a local public sector organisation (local government – councils, local authorities, combined authorities etc.) and manage any tech/ IT procurement, we would like to invite you to fill in this short survey.

We are keen to understand how local government find current procurement processes, what good looks like, and how industry can better fulfil requirements.

The procurement workstream part of our Local Public Services Committee aims to showcase what good looks like and to explore how procurement can become the enabler to innovation. Helping to create a level playing field and delivering procurement outcomes that deliver the best value for citizens.

Dear Survey respondent,

Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this important research led by the Tech UK Local Public Services Committee. We greatly value your input in shaping the future of Public Sector procurement in the UK.

As we all know, procurement plays a pivotal role in addressing many of the challenges faced in our sector – driving positive outcomes when executed effectively. We also know how damaging it can be when buying, partnering or contracting goes wrong.

This survey aims to gather honest and anonymous insights from experienced professionals like you, to inform and test assumptions held by both suppliers and customers in Public Sector procurement. We’ve designed these questions explore potentially challenging areas, and your candid responses are essential to ensuring that the findings are both robust and impactful. We very much appreciate your candour and your time.

The survey is being shared with several hundred participants across the UK Public Sector buyer community, many of whom have already expressed strong interest in taking part. We look forward to your valuable contribution. A corresponding survey will also be shared with the supplier community, and we anticipate that comparing responses will provide some interesting insights. Once again, thank you for taking part. In the coming months, we will share the results with you via Tech UK. We welcome feedback or ideas on this survey - please feel free to get in touch.

The survey will be open from 11 October until 8 November and should take around 12-15 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
