Watch now: Powering the future cloud computing, AI, and the UK’s energy infrastructure
On 29 October 2024 techUK hosted this online panel discussion to consider the rising energy demands of cloud-enabled digital transformation and ask how the UK can ensure it continues to enjoy the benefits of emerging technologies like AI while meeting its net-zero ambitions. This discussion also highlighted how the economic and innovation value of these technologies reinforces the need for ongoing investment in digital and energy infrastructure.
The panel explored the energy needs of cloud computing and cloud-enabled AI, alongside more traditional on-premises IT solutions, highlighted opportunities for the cloud industry to be as energy-efficient and sustainable as possible, and considered what might be needed from energy companies, the national grid and UK Government to facilitate a sustainable future for digital transformation.
