The Digital Landline Switchover happening now across the UK – moving landline phone services onto digital connections and switching off the old analog phone service (the PSTN) – will see many other devices that use the landline for data impacted. One critical service affected is telecare devices and health pendant alarms which often use landlines for monitoring and emergency communications. The change that is underway will present both challenges for local authorities as well as opportunities for new innovative services to replace the old and true potential for digital transformation for health and telecare.

techUK, together with the TSA, NHSE and the GLA invite London’s local authorities to join us on September 24th from 9am at our London offices to explore the vision for digital transformation in the telecare and connectivity space and help to understand the opportunities and benefits afforded by the program. With Keynote addresses from Theo Blackwell (Chief Digital Officer for London) and James Friend (Director of Digital Strategy for London – NHSE) as well as case studies from the authorities who have already faced the challenges and will be talking through the solutions implemented and experience in procuring devices. We aim to support London’s boroughs in learning about the innovative technologies on offer and their benefits and understand what needs to be considered when procuring devices fit for the digital network and future connectivity.

Registration will open from 9am with a marketplace session to meet with some of the telecare suppliers running alongside refreshments and networking opportunities. The event will start at 10am and close with a further marketplace session over lunch from 12:45 until 14:00.

Due to the anticipated demand for this meeting and to ensure that priority is given to GLA local authorities, please consider registering for this event as an expression of interest. We will reach out in week commencing 16 September to confirm your place. If you have any queries, please reach out to our team below.
