On Wednesday 11 December (14.30-16.00) techUK will be hosting the team from the Department for Science Innovation and Technology that is leading on the Cyber Security and Resilience (CSR) Bill for a discussion with members specifically on their experiences of, and reflections on, the EU's NIS 2 Directive.

This feedback will be useful to the DSIT team as they continue to shape the CSR Bill's proposed measures - a key aspect of which is the expansion of the UK's Network & Information Systems Regulations 2018 (the NIS Regulations) which was proposed further to a consultation that took place in 2022. Indeed, there are some specific areas of cross-cutting areas of interest and this is a good opportunity for techUK members to provide input on lessons learned from NIS2.

Attendees are asked to note that this is a participatory session and members will be asked to provide their reflections as set out in the roundtable agenda below.

Roundtable Agenda

  1. Introductions (techUK/DSIT)
  2. Overview of UK CSR Bill proposals (DSIT)
  3. Reflections from industry on NIS2 (techUK members)
    • How have you navigated the NIS2 Directive?
    • What are your reflections on regulator capability within the EU?
    • What are your reflections on regulatory overlaps in this context?
    • What are your reflections on the scope of MSPs now captured under NIS 2 and how are you managing your compliance to this requirement?
    • What are your reflections on the supply chain and risk assessment aspects of NIS2?
    • What are your reflections on the NIS2 incident reporting requirements, including timelines for reporting?
    • Any other relevant reflections on NIS2.

Register to attend this hybrid event in person or online now.

If you are unable to participate in this roundtable but would like to learn more about the upcoming CSR Bill and ask any questions you may have, please do instead sign up to attend our online briefing session with the DSIT team on 4 December
