Join techUK and iNetwork on 14th July as we explore a range of perspectives on place-based approaches from across the public and private sectors, share insights from research on the topic, and delve into the role of the technology industry in enabling a focus on ‘place’.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of 'place-based' working and collaboration is greater than ever before. Place-based working is a holistic approach that focuses on multiple stakeholders from across sectors and the local community to make a meaningful impact to a specific location. Interest in national place-based policies is growing, and the concept is now a key component of the Government’s Levelling Up white paper.

However, whilst it is clear that local communities and stakeholders have rallied to drive forward interventions in district centres around the country, the role of the technology industry – often in the form of support, supply and innovation – is more opaque and less understood.
