AWS Health Tech Community Event

Workforce Management and Productivity continues to be a key area of investment for the NHS with growing pressure on staffing, recruitment and retention. The NHS Workforce Plan, established June 2023, focuses on retaining existing NHS talent and making the best use of new technology across three key pillars of Train, Retain and Reform.

  • Train – Growing the workforce by significantly expanding domestic education, training and recruitment
  • Retain – Embedding the right culture and improve retention by improving culture, leadership and wellbeing
  • Reform – Working and training differently by enabling innovative ways of working to enhance productivity

In addition the Darzi Report has highlighted NHS challenges including staff shortages, burnout, and management issues. It emphasizes workforce planning, staff empowerment, and leadership development to address these critical issues. The NHS 10 Year Health Plan, to be published this spring, will also focus on the big shifts the NHS needs to be fit for the future: from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from sickness to prevention.

This event aims to explore the opportunities for the HealthTech community and the NHS working in partnership to help address these challenges.
