Lack of interoperability of tech solutions, systems and tools is a commonly recognised challenge in the policing sector, and indeed more widely across the ecosystem. Forces use different products and operate numerous software systems, some which work together, some which do not. This leads to numerous data silos where joining up data – to gain operational insight - can be difficult. However, some forces are making huge progress in driving forward the interoperability agenda.

Join techUK for a virtual briefing with Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) Chris Sykes, Greater Manchester Police. The ACC will cover:

  • What interoperability means for GMP
  • Why the challenge exists
  • The impact and why interoperability is important
  • Overcoming challenges
  • Results – before interoperability interventions and, after

The conversation will also cover the technical and cultural challenges to overcome in order to make the project a success and, how this work is being documented and its ability to be shared through the Police Digital Service (PDS) Knowledge Hub.

Attendees will hear from the ACC before joining a Q&A and discussion.
