techUK will be hosting the launch of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s (DSIT) Portfolio of AI Assurance Techniques on Wednesday, June 7 between 3pm and 5pm at techUK’s offices in Central London (10 St Bride Street, EC4 4AD). This in-person event will be followed by networking drinks. It will be an exciting occasion to showcase the collaboration between Government, industry, and techUK members at a watershed moment for the development of AI best practice in the UK.

We will be joined by Susannah Storey, Director General for Digital Technologies and Telecoms at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), Felicity Burch, Executive Director for the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI) and Dr Florian Ostmann, Head of AI Governance and Regulatory Innovation at the Alan Turing Institute, alongside other exciting speakers from industry and academia.

Led by the CDEI, the Portfolio will feature case studies of AI assurance techniques being applied by companies and organisations using cutting-edge technologies across a range of sectors. AI assurance will help to drive the adoption of AI by building justified trust in AI systems by reliably evaluating and then communicating whether or not these systems are trustworthy.

This will act as a valuable resource for those developing and procuring AI systems to understand how AI assurance techniques can help them measure, evaluate, and communicate the trustworthiness of AI systems, as well as how those techniques align with the regulatory principles published in the UK’s AI White Paper in March.

A healthy AI assurance ecosystem will help support a pro-innovation approach to regulation, contributing to the growth of the UK economy, and driving positive impacts for society as a whole. The event will feature a keynote speech, as well as different case study presentations from stakeholders and techUK members who have contributed to the repository.

The launch event will bring together industry leaders and policymakers to celebrate the progress made by the sector and showcase current practice in AI assurance.

I hope that you can join us at the CDEI AI Assurance repository launch. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
