Mills & Reeve briefing on the Procurement Act: Impact on the Health and Care Industry

In the session, procurement law specialist Shailee Howard and health tech lawyer Charlotte Lewis will provide an outline of the key changes resulting from the major overhaul to the UK's public procurement regime under the Procurement Act 2023. 

Shailee Howard brings 15 years of experience advising both public and private sectors on public procurement law.  Charlotte Lewis is a Principal Associate specialising in commercial health and technology, with a passion for innovation. Charlotte is co-vice chair of techUK’s Health and Social Care Council.

• The new supplier selection procedure under the Act and what it means for health and care procurement 

• The competitive flexible procedure and its implications for healthcare services and equipment procurement 

• New transparency requirements and the risks and benefits they present for healthcare providers

• How providers can strategically use the new notices regime to understand market dynamics, including competitor activities, contract awards, pricing, amendments, and extensions

I advise health and care organisations on legal, commercial, and strategic issues relating to commissioning, contracting and collaborating.

Having worked on a range of health and social care projects from system and place-based integration and provider collaboration to electronic patient record procurements and digital health platform development, I work in partnership with clients to help them to navigate complex issues to deliver the desired outcome.
