The UK has a strong and diverse Robotics & Automation sector spanning private companies, Government, academia, and the third sector. This has resulted in the creation of world-leading companies such as Ocado Technology and high rates of adoption across sectors such as manufacturing and defence.
Despite this, the UK still has a long way to go if it’s to harnesses the potential of these technologies to drive improvements in productivity, living standards, and economic growth.
The potential to do so is immense. For example, the Department for Science and Technology (DSIT) estimates that a 30% boost in robot installations is projected to add $4.9 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
Only through collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and technologies such as AI and Immersive can the UK unleash the potential of its Robotics & Automation sector and realise the subsequent benefits.
As such, this event will bring together the sector to meet, socialise over pizza and drinks, explore opportunities for collaboration in 2025, and learn more about techUK's upcoming Robotics & Automation sprint campaign.
Attendees can also expect to hear from and meet expert speakers who will set out the key trends and technologies industry can expect to encounter in the year ahead. These will be announced in due course.

Sprint Campaigns
techUK's sprint campaigns explore how emerging and transformative technologies are developed, applied and commercialised across the UK's innovation ecosystem.
Activity includes workshops, roundtables, panel discussions, networking sessions, Summits, and flagship reports (setting out recommendations for Government and industry).
Each campaign runs for 4-6 months and features regular collaborations with programmes across techUK.
This campaign explored how the UK can lead on the development, application and commercialisation of space technologies and ultimately realise the benefits of the New Space Economy.
These technologies include AI, quantum, lasers, robotics & automation, advanced propulsion and materials, and semiconductors.
Activity has taken the form of roundtables, panel discussions, networking sessions, Summits, thought leadership pieces, policy recommendations, and a report.

These include AI, augmented / virtual / mixed / extended reality, haptics, cloud & edge computing, semiconductors, and advanced connectivity (5/6G).
Activity has taken the form of roundtables, panel discussions, networking sessions, Summits, and thought leadership pieces. A report featuring member case studies and policy recommendations is currently being produced (to be launched in September 2024).
