techUK is delighted to be hosting the team behind ‘Silicon Stoke’ prospectus, which sets out the digital ambition for Stoke-on-Trent, for an industry briefing.
Stoke-on-Trent is an ambitious Smart City in the making. A recent prospectus, Silicon Stoke, set out the city’s ambitions for its digital transformation to help secure partnerships and investment into the city.
Smart Stoke is already underway, with the completion of a 113km full-fibre cross-city which offers opportunity for 5G services, as well as plans for a full-fibre academy at Stoke-on-Trent College and a new Digital Academy.
To help Stoke-on-Trent ensure it can take up the many opportunities of this enhanced digital connectivity, techUK is convening an industry briefing to help members understand the scope of the Silicon Stoke ambition and the opportunities for collaboration with industry partners.
Our briefing will outline where the opportunity for industry lies: everything from bringing Industry 4.0 to life for SMEs and the innovation opportunities through improved collaboration across the city. As well as hearing from the team at Stoke-on-Trent council, there will be ample time for Q&A and discussion and for tech suppliers to share their views on the direction of the prospectus and how best it should be taken forward.
