Exciting opportunity for techUK members interested in policing and crime to contribute to a funded project with the UCL Dawes Centre for Future Crime. This project aims to identify and discuss future crime threats that may be enabled or facilitated by embodied social robots.
The next phase of the project is a sandpit event at Missenden Abbey (hotel and conference center) in Great Missenden, UK, on December 2-3, 2024. This event will gather expert stakeholders from various sectors - including academia, government, industry, law enforcement, and civil society - to discuss findings from the literature review and integrate them with expert opinions and feedback. The ultimate goal is to develop a catalogue of crime scenarios and countermeasures.
Participants do not need to be experts in every area of the project; however, they should be able to contribute meaningfully to the discussions. In fact, diversity in participants' backgrounds is encouraged.
Travel, accommodation, and catering will be covered by the project budget. There is no need for prior preparation, as all necessary background information will be provided.
If you would like to attend or have any questions, please contact Dr. Lorenzo Pasculli at [email protected].
