The UK’s traditional home phone service is getting an upgrade which will soon see most landline calls made over a broadband line.
The switchover to digital landlines will for the most part be simple. Nobody will have to lose their landline service because of this change - phone numbers will stay the same, and nearly all existing handsets are compatible. The move however might impact other services and equipment using the landline from telecare and health pendants to security systems.
techUK, recognising that change – no matter how small – can be unsettling, will be hosting a webinar together with DigiRen as part of the DigiKnow(vember)’s mission to promote digital and data inclusion.
Join us online on November 6th from 10 – 11 to talk through the switchover program and share what support is available, especially for those who may need to take extra steps to prepare such as the elderly, vulnerable and those with additional needs.
Representatives from techUK and Communications Providers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have and how working together can help make the move to digital a successful one.
