In May 2024, the Automated Vehicles Act became law, setting the foundation for a comprehensive regulatory framework that will enable the operation and scaling of AV services from robo-taxis, to shuttles and buses.

Local authorities will play an important role in enabling this shift as technology companies, manufacturers and operators all work together to design the next generation of transport solutions to support people and place.
