As the automated vehicles (AV) sector continues to grow around the world, this webinar from techUK will explore the implications and opportunities AVs can bring local government in the UK.

The UK is a world-leader in the testing and development of AVs, with trials underway across the country on public roads and within state-of-the-art testing facilities. In May 2024, the Automated Vehicles Act became law, setting the foundation for a comprehensive regulatory framework that will enable the operation and scaling of AV services from robo-taxis, to shuttles and buses.

Local authorities will play an important role in enabling this shift as technology companies, manufacturers and operators all work together to design the next generation of transport solutions to support people and place.

In this interactive session we will hear from technology businesses developing AVs, operators running automated services and local government representatives (both UK and international) on the key implications and opportunities for local government, from infrastructure requirements to citizen engagement. This is your opportunity to learn about this fast-growing sector, ask questions and explore where UK local government will play a role.
