techUK and the Confederation of Indian Industry, as joint industry delivery partners of the UK-India Technology & Security Initiative signed both Governments in 2024, are co-organising a Telecoms and Semiconductor Roundtable on the 30th January 2025.

The TSI has been accorded top priority by the Government of India and the UK. The CII is the designated private sector delivery partner for this bilateral initiative from the Indian side. We are partnering with techUK for this event.

The business roundtable is being organised around first half-yearly review of the TSI on 30-31 January 2025, when the Deputy National Security Advisers of India and the UK will be meeting in London.

The objective of the business roundtable is to have free flowing discussions between British and Indian companies across relevant sectors to create collaborations aimed at the following:

  • Assisting the co-creation resilient and secure technology
  • Creating trusted networks of security suppliers
  • Agreeing on policy frameworks to encourage adoption of best practices
  • Creating capacity building and skills
  • Discussion on the intersection of technology and geopolitical risks with regard to the wider UK-India relationshop.

The India-UK Technology Security Initiative (TSI) was launched by both governments during the visit of The Rt Hon David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the UK, to Delhi in July 2024. Seven sectors have been identified for this initiative – Telecom, Critical Minerals, Semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum, Biotechnology and Health-tech and Advanced Materials. Technology is an important pillar of the Roadmap to 2030 for the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership launched by the respective Prime Ministers in 2021. The UK is India's second largest partner in research and innovation collaboration. For more information, please refer to the India UK TSI factsheet through this link.

Spaces are very limited for this roundtable. Thus, we kindly ask to only sign up if you are directly involved in telecommunications or semiconductors.

Once you have signed up, you will receive an email from [email protected] confirming your place.
