This is business matchmaking event organised by the British High Commission in Nigeria, TheCityUK and The British High Commission in Kenya, taking place at LocalGlobe (Phoenix Court, 2 Brill Pl, London NW1 1DX, UK) between 9:15 and 11:30am on Wednesday 27 April.

This is an opportunity for members of the UK tech community to meet 40-50 of the most dynamic and fast-growing tech companies from two of Africa’s biggest economies - both with increasingly significant tech sectors. We are now expecting Vicky Ford MP, Minister for Africa, to attend and open the event.

If there are UK tech company contacts that you think would be interested in attending, please do encourage them to come along. The meeting’s free of charge and will only last for two hours. There is great interest in the UK’s tech, particularly fintech, capabilities and a lot of goodwill towards the UK. While neither Nigeria and Kenya are straightforward markets, they do offer opportunities for long-term future international growth and good private sector partners.

Further details as follows:

  • The event is free of charge and features a 60-minute networking session with the visiting companies.
  • We have a maximum capacity of 40, so registering for the event will be first come, first served. The organisers will be in further contact with the UK participants to explore match-ups, so that we optimise the time on the day for all participants. I can share further details of the attendees if this would be useful.
  • If members would like to take part, they should RSVP via this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8oyNXE40vhGem_rki1_ZAnBSOC8GpQ35sgT2SYWuCEDalCQ/viewform
