Session 1- Enablers of future mobility services- emerging technologies
11am – 11.50am BST, 30 March 2022 ‐ 50 mins
Plenary
This session will explore the potential of emerging technologies. Our panel will deep dive into the challenges and risks of the application of tech in different transport scenarios. This session will be chaired by Sue Daley, Director, Technology and Innovation, techUK.
Discussion points
- How are different emerging technologies (e.g. smart sensors, blockchain, artificial intelligence) boosting innovation in mobility?
- What is the role for innovation in dealing with the increasing pressure on achieving societal goals within the transport sector (e.g. decarbonisation, levelling-up, improving traffic safety, reducing congestion)?
- What are the main regulatory or legislative constraints preventing large-scale deployment? How does a lack of social acceptance play into this (e.g. fear of AI etc)?

Session 3 - Delivering tomorrow’s mobility
2.35pm – 3.25pm BST, 30 March 2022 ‐ 50 mins
Plenary
Having already discussed challenges, opportunities, and the digital infrastructure, this session will be a focussed discussion on the tomorrow models and innovation in different sectors of transport. This session will be moderated by Giles Perkins, Head of Profession - Future Mobility, WSP
Discussion points
• Given COVID-19, how much harder will it now be to deliver the benefits of public transport and provide what passengers want?
• How are leading operators rethinking their business models and service provision, and embracing low-carbon solutions?
• Will changing work and commuting patterns result in less pressure on peak services? How should fares be structured to allow for shifting demand?
• What are the difficulties of combining different services into a seamless and accessible passenger experience and making multimodal mobility a reality?
