Dr Tim Cooper is a GP partner in Basingstoke and Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Primary and Local Care at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board. Tim has a background working in both practices, PCNs and commissioning, having supported the delivery of closer working with the voluntary sector in mental health and pioneering innovative ways of working including using technology. He successfully delivered a scaled covid vaccination service across North Hampshire which evolved into delivering NHS health checks utilising technology and point of care testing to enable this using a non-traditional workforce.
Within the ICB his current focus is on developing a strategy to meet the needs of primary and local care, to meet the ambitions of the Fuller Stocktake and the needs of the workforce. He is working alongside the population health management team to help target health inequalities and promote equity in healthcare. Aligned to this he is the clinical responsible officer for personalised care and chair of the cardiovascular prevention board for Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
He is also an elected board member of NHUC, an urgent care and mental health service in North Hampshire, providing both in and out of hours care through 111.
Outside of work he is a trustee of Fluid Motion Theatre company, a charity focussed on using the arts to support mental health. He is also an advisory board member to Ripple Suicide Prevention charity, that utilises digital interventions to support suicide prevention.
Ben has 15+ years’ experience in healthcare and public sector analytics – having both worked in a large NHS healthcare provider specialising in national tariff, surgical services, theatres and healthcare costing as well as a short tenure in local government in child social care.
During his time in local government in 2008, he worked on an large scale population analytics project called ‘total place’ looking at service usage across all public sector entities. He joined Civica in 2009 and has worked with over 100 providers and commissioners on the Civica SLAM solution to support activity and income planning. He undertook a masters in Big data analytics completing in December 2021 with distinction, while simultaneously establishing Civica’s AI and Analytics centre of excellence which now develops custom AI and analytics solutions across health care, central government, local government and education.
Julian David is the CEO of techUK, the Digital Technology Trade Association.
Julian leads techUK's 60 strong team in representing over 800 member companies, comprising global and national champions and more than 500 SMEs. He is a member of the UK Government and Industry Cyber Growth Partnership, the Digital Economy Council and the Department of International Trade’s Strategic Trade Advisory Group. He is also the Vice President for National Trade Associations, on the Executive Board of DIGITALEUROPE, Vice President representing Europe on the board of WITSA the Worldwide IT Association, and a member of the board of the Health innovation Network, the South London Academic Health Science Network.
Ifan Evans joined DHCW in April 2022 as Executive Director of Strategy. His responsibilities include strategic planning and performance, commercial and partnering, and national digital transformation programmes (Digital Medicines, National Data Resource, Diagnostics, NHS Wales App).
Ifan began his career in the private sector, leading several small businesses in retail, hospitality and property sectors. He moved to the public sector in 2007 as a director at the Welsh Language Board, leading on private sector and business engagement, and then to the Welsh Government as lead for Life Sciences and Health in the economy department.
He later moved to the health department, where he wrote the national strategy for health and care, A Healthier Wales, and built a new directorate focussed on transformation, innovation and digital. Reporting to the CEO of NHS Wales, he was the national lead for implementing A Healthier Wales, for Brexit readiness across health and care, and for the digital response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ifan has been a champion across government and NHS Wales for innovation, technology adoption, and digital transformation. He is passionate about applying digital technologies and data as tools to clarify and simplify, reducing unwarranted variation and making services better for professionals and the public.
Dr Tim Ferris is the inaugural National Director of Transformation at NHS England, and previously a Non-Executive Director on the Board. Tim is seconded from his role as CEO of the Mass General Physicians Organization in Boston, USA. Tim trained in medicine and public health at Harvard University, and became a professor at Harvard Medical School in 2018 and continues as an adjunct Professor.
Lorraine joined the PRSB in 2015. After the first half of her career in corporate banking, Lorraine moved into the NHS 18 years ago, initially as one of the executive team responsible for creating the new health regulator, the Healthcare Commission. There Lorraine was responsible for defining and implementing the information strategy to transform the approach to regulation through the intelligent use of information. Lorraine has worked in variety of roles in the NHS including commercial, strategy, and change/transformation including leading national transformation programmes.
At the PRSB, Lorraine has led the organisation from start up to being an integral and respected part of the UK standards infrastructure with a unique and strongly engaged membership spanning 83 health, care and patient advocacy groups. Lorraine also championed PRSB's launch of the innovative Partner Scheme, working closely with industry to accredit their conformance with standards.
Malte Gerhold joined the Health Foundation in May 2022 as Director of Innovation and Improvement.
Malte leads the Foundation’s work to support radical innovation and improvement in health and care services, providing insights, practical resources and funding to enable change, including through new technologies and data. He also oversees the Foundation's strategic partnerships in this space, including the Q Community, THIS Institute and IMPACT Centre, and our first spin-out THISLabs.
He was previously Chief Integrated Care Officer at Birdie, a digital startup helping to reinvent the way we age, where he led its collaboration across social care and the NHS. Before that he was Executive Director of Strategy and Intelligence at the Care Quality Commission, leading on its methodology, analytics and communications, including its regulatory approach to new innovations and improvement. He has also lived and worked in Sierra Leone, and in the UK he worked at the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, the Department of Health, and Accenture.
Malte is also a trustee of the Alzheimer’s Society, a member of the Sciana Health Leaders Network, and a Fellow of the RSA. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the London School of Economics and a Masters and PhD from the University of Oxford.
Andreas has over 25 years of experience in the IT/digital industry and is currently Managing Director at Healthcare at Accenture UK with a mission to help the NHS transform through the use of data, AI and other digital technologies. Prior to that he was a Director at Healthcare and Life Sciences at IBM UK
He has worked to improve children’s experience of hospital stays and visits with Alder Hey Hospital, with Versus Arthritis UK to improve patient pain management and with Velindre NHS Trust to improve patient experience during cancer treatment using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Following Wannacry, Andreas led the work with NHS Digital for Cyber Security supporting the NHS system to become more resilient and better prepared for future cyber attacks.
He previously also worked with a charity for the disabled as a member of the Board of Trustees overseeing the development of strategy and approving the strategic direction and policies for the charity.
Andreas is currently the Chair of the Health and Social Care (HSC) Council, techUK and leads regular Council meetings. This has included the co-ordination of techUK HSC Industry response to Covid19, current work on Frontline Digitisation and initiatives focusing on diversity and inclusion and the development of skills and tech talent in the health tech sector.
With over 25 years’ experience in the architecture and delivery of national and international digital and data platforms across the Healthcare system and wider public and private sectors, Justin specializes in leading successful ‘end to end’ delivery of challenging, complex assignments, and cross-enterprise initiatives.
Highly accomplished at delivering effective business transformation, frequently through the selective use of innovative, leading-edge technologies, Justin has extensive experience across highly regulated industries including the Healthcare, Utilities and Nuclear sectors.
With particular expertise in digital service development in healthcare settings, Justin has most recently consulted on the design and delivery of NHSE’s national Learning From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) Service, which is exploring the use of data science-led approaches to support better learning from patient safety incidents and the mitigation of risks to patient safety across the NHS at the point of care.
Mark Hutchinson is a Top 100 CIO, and in his 20-year career, has delivered some of the most successful and impactful digital transformation in the NHS. He developed and delivered the UK’s first telemedicine service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust back in 2007 during the National Programme for IT, then helped secure Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust’s Global Digital Exemplar status by implementing its EPR. More recently, Mark delivered an EPR at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in five months, accelerating its digital maturity. This was before taking up his most recent role as EPR Programme Director at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, which has been identified as a ‘Group zero’ trust. Here, Mark helped deliver the trusts first EPR solution. During this time, Mark has inspired teams to innovate, created the right environment to solve complex organisational problems, and helped trusts to transform their services and improve patient care. For example, he helped take Salford from ‘special measures’ to ‘total control’ and decreased Gloucestershire’s hospital discharge backlog by 25%. Some of the solutions Mark has implemented, such as the telemedicine service, are now in use across the country. Other projects, such as Gloucestershire’s EPR, were deployed using entirely local budgets, proving how significant improvements in digital maturity can be achieved without relying on central funding. In his new role as Vice President of Healthcare Strategy & Transformation, EMEA, at Altera Digital Health, Mark intends to guide trusts to take similar approaches that are cost-effective and deliver instant benefits to patient care.
Stephen leads IQVIA’s consulting teams that encompass Market Access, Pathway Transformation and Patient Pathway Analytics with a particular focus on enabling collaboration between the NHS and the life sciences industry.
Stephen has worked extensively within innovation and digital enablement in healthcare, strategy consulting and service re-design for over fifteen years. Early in Stephen’s career he got to see first-hand how the successful alignment of people, process and technology could drastically improve care quality and patient outcomes via his work on the adoption of electronic medical record technology at the front line of care.

Dr Stephanie Kuku is a health technology director, a senior consultant at Hardian Health and a senior adviser and consultant at the World Health Organization’s Department of Digital Health and Innovation.
She completed her medical degree at University of Bristol, and was awarded a doctorate in clinical research (oncology) from University College London, where she remains an honorary senior research fellow at the Institute of Women's Health. Stephanie is the Healthcare Lead for Women in AI and is a co-investigator on the NHSX' NHS AI Lab Artificial Intelligence and Racial and Ethnic Inequalities in Health and Care project.

Charlotte is a specialist in commercial health with a passion for innovation. She loves to work with clients who are looking to break into new areas or do things differently.
Charlotte advises the health and care sector on a wide range of commercial and corporate matters including corporate/contractual structures, new care models, and transformation programmes, as well as general commercial enquiries. She has a particular interest in healthtech and works with technology and digital companies operating within the sector.
Charlotte has worked on pioneering transformation projects across the sector including the transfer of specialist clinical services between NHS Trusts in order to re-align services for the benefit of the entire population, resulting in a significant and positive impact on health outcomes.
Alison is a nurse with 20 years of leadership experience in informatics and clinical practice in the community, acute and tertiary care settings. She is an expert in guiding clinical transformation enabled by digital health technologies in various types of international health care organizations. She leverages a vendor-agnostic approach to enabling organizations to elevate their experience with EHR and digital health technology implementation.
As a Prosci-certified change management professional, Alison is a skilled executive leader facilitating change in organizations to support successful adoption and implementation of large-scale health information systems. She is focused on leveraging technology to enable leading clinical practice, improve efficiency in health care systems and improve patient outcomes.
Prior to joining the Nordic team, Alison worked more than nine years with Healthtech Consultants, a Nordic Global Company, serving in increasingly senior roles advising clients on clinical information system implementation and support projects.
Alison holds a BNSc in Nursing from Queen’s University and a Master of Nursing, Administration and Informatics from University of Toronto.
He is a fellow of the BCS, FEDPI Leading Practioner, CHIME Certificated Health Chief Information Officer and an alumnus of the Digital Academy.
He has three decades of transformation and programme management experience. His first decade focused on UK military aircraft projects and for the last two decades he has focused on digital transformation in the NHS. He is currently leading the Yorkshire & Humber Care Record development to provide interweave as an open platform for shared care record and population health systems. He is also the CIO of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Senior Responsible Owner for the mental health digital transformation of Humber & North Yorkshire ICS, member of the PRSB advisory board, member of the National ICS Digital Council and vice chair of Northern, Yorkshire and Humberside Digital and informatics Forum (NYHDIF).
