Our programmes

Across 21 dedicated programmes our expert teams help our members to do things they could not do alone. We help build relationships critical to their growth. We showcase their insights, products and services. We help them to affect policy beneficial to their business. We demonstrate their leadership and expertise in their field, and we facilitate hundreds of meetings and events, creating opportunities to meet suppliers, partners, regulators and customers.

techUK teams are focused on 21 distinct programmes of activity, plus a dedicated SME programme. Within each of these Programmes, there is a team of techUK colleagues supporting members to collaborate and build networks across business and government.

  • Members join our community to build strong relationships with potential customers, partners, regulators, Government, and peers across the UK.
  • Members participate in networks and workstreams relevant to their business. They lead our Boards and Working Groups, and they set the agenda for our workstreams.
  • Members help us to define policy positions that will benefit the industry, and champion tech as a driver of the economy.
  • Members have access to timely insights, events, breaking news, thought leadership, and policy updates.

techUK members have access to all Programmes as part of their membership. You can read an overview of each Programme below:

Central Government

Our aim: To serve citizens better, improve outcomes, and deliver more value for money, the UK has to accelerate the transformation of public services through the smart application of digital technology. techUK aims to lead debate on new technologies and provide a forum for government to engage with tech suppliers. We help government access leading industry expertise at an early stage in tackling challenges, and help our members improve their understanding of government requirements.

Our value: We facilitate market engagement sessions with all the major Whitehall Departments – particularly the Home Office, DWP, HMRC and the GPA – based on upcoming procurement opportunities. Critically, the Programme also allows members to network with a view to developing effective partnerships for public sector bids.

Consumer Tech and Regulation

Our aim: This programme supports member companies to navigate policy and regulatory requirements when delivering technology products and services to UK consumers. We assist members in addressing UK product regulations and non-tariff barriers, which have become more complex after Brexit, and engage widely in the media and broadcast policy space and consultations into consumer rights legislation. The programme was extensively involved in the development of the UK Media Act and DMCC Act, and is working with regulators to ensure that implementation guidelines are clear and proportionate.

Our value: We provide members with operational support, compliance advice and direct interactions with government
which would be extremely expensive to engage external help on. We positively impact our members’ bottom line by supporting them in anticipating, shaping and reacting to change, ensuring compliance and mitigating regulatory risk with reduced costs and minimised disruption to business operations.
